A wedding suit is the most date-bound commission the house takes. Here is the timeline that keeps it calm.
The golden rule
Work backwards from the wedding date and ask the maker for a written delivery estimate before committing. Bonturberg states that most two-piece commissions take around six to eight weeks from approved measurements and deposit; cloth, destination and any agreed follow-up can affect an individual order.
Twelve to nine months out
Once the date and city are fixed, include them in your enquiry. An enquiry does not reserve an appointment; confirm the date, venue, production timeline and delivery plan in writing before arranging travel or committing the wedding party.
Nine to five months out
If a fitting is agreed, discuss cloth, measurements, posture, intended use and the venue. The written order confirmation should record the chosen garment, delivery estimate and any follow-up that applies to your commission.
Five to one months out
Production takes place in the Bangkok atelier. Ask whether an intermediate fitting or other follow-up is included, how it will be arranged, and whether companion orders have separate schedules.
The final week
Follow the delivery estimate in your written order and allow time to inspect and try on the garment with the intended shoes and shirt. Care instructions depend on the cloth and its label; ask the tailor about any finishing or fit concern as soon as it arises.
After the day
The Fit Passport records measurements and preferences for future reference. Ask the house how those records are stored and used, and confirm the terms that apply to later orders or fit concerns.
