Short answer
Canvas through the chest and lapels only: structure where it matters, lightness and cost where it doesn’t. The house’s business-suit default.
Half canvas compared with full canvas
The existing half-canvas definition concerns the supported upper front, chest and lapels. Full canvas extends through the jacket front. Ask where the canvas stops and what supports the lower front of the specific garment; the label alone is not a complete construction specification.
Confirm the selected garment
Construction, lining, cloth and fit are separate decisions. Ask the tailor to record the agreed construction in the quotation. A photographed silhouette or collection name does not verify the interior of the garment you will receive.

In bespoke, half canvas is not a style preference but a decision made with your tailor — recorded in your Fit Passport so the next commission starts from the same understanding. Ask about it at your fitting; the honest answer includes whether it serves your line or is merely tradition.
