Short answer
A Made-to-Measure suit is worth it if you wear suits often enough for cost-per-wear to collapse, if standard sizes have never truly fit you, or if the occasion matters enough to justify it. If you wear a suit twice a year and sizes treat you fine — honest answer — buy good ready-to-wear and keep the money.
The three honest reasons to commission
One: your body — blocks never fit and alterations plateau. Two: your calendar — monthly wear turns cost-per-wear into single euros within a few years. Three: the occasion — the wedding, the milestone, the stage, where fit confidence is part of the performance. If none of the three apply, we will say so in the enquiry.
The arithmetic nobody shows you
A €420 Essential commission worn 40 times a year for 8 years costs about €2 per wear — less than dry cleaning it. A €500 suit worn 4 times a year costs €31 per wear over the same years. The expensive suit is usually the cheap one; the spreadsheet is in the cost-per-wear guide.
When the honest answer is no
Suits twice a year, body close to standard, budget needed elsewhere: buy RTW, have it altered locally, and spend the difference on the trip. A house that needs every visitor to commission is not telling you the truth about tailoring — and we would rather keep the credibility.
