THE GROOM’S GUIDE

Groomsmen & party orders: how to organise them.

The logistics of dressing five to nine men in one register — without losing a month to group chats.

Short answer

Set the formality, palette, budget and decision date with the couple, then check lead times for each person’s outfit. Party members may need different providers or fitting routes, so confirm individual measurements, delivery dates and responsibilities before placing orders.

The decision architecture

One decision-maker (usually with the groom): register, palette, budget ceiling. One deadline: party orders enter with or immediately after the groom’s commission — see the timeline. One channel: sizes, measurements and fittings collected centrally rather than by nine separate conversations. The weddings that go wrong here go wrong in the group chat, not the atelier.

Mixed bodies, one register

Party members can keep the same formality while choosing garments and fit options that suit them individually. If you want group fittings, ask the provider whether dates and locations can be coordinated; do not assume every member can use the same route.

Money, honestly

Set the budget openly per man, early: party costs are real and vary by member. Options that work: the couple funds cloth and making for a matching piece; or each member buys to the agreed register (their garment, kept afterwards — a genuine gift of a working suit). Either is respectable; surprise invoices are not.

Planning a real wedding? The house fits grooms and their parties across Europe on the proposed 2027 programme — bring the date and the venue photographs to the first fitting, and the calendar is planned backwards from the day.

Questions grooms ask

Do all groomsmen need identical suits?+

Identical register, individually fitted garments: cloth and formality consistent, fit per man. Identical block-made suits that fit half the party badly are the classic wedding-photo failure.

Can party members order from other cities?+

Yes — that is the travelling house’s normal work: grouped windows where geography allows, remote routes for shirts and reorders. The planning conversation settles each member’s route.

What is the latest party members can order?+

With the groom’s timeline, less one fortnight of buffer — late party orders are the most common source of wedding-calendar stress. Book everyone at the first fitting.
